Cedar Point Amusement Park, The Roller Coaster Capital of the World!

The Cedar Point Bears and friends getaway is for those who like bears and who love roller coasters! We just had our first annual weekend at Cedar Point. We will be holding it each October so we can be there for Halloweekends. during this time of year, the area motels are considered off season so the rates really drop and if I can get a group of 15 of more, we can get a group discount on park entry.

I originally did this mainly because after many years of being unable to fit on the rides, and now that I can, I’ve been hitting every major amusement park on the east coast. However, Cedar Point does hold a special place in my heart because compared to all the other parks, this is the extreme!

I had been sending invites to those who may be within driving distance from Chicago all the way to Toronto. Of course, anyone is welcome to come who wants to come whether you drive fly or take a boat LOL.

This year we had 4 people including myself. although I gave a couple months notice it was still short notice to a lot of people and so I decided to create the cedar point group on facebook so I can keep people in the loop like deciding which weekend in october we’ll be going. this year we did it the third weekend and I think that might be a little too late. Next year I’m thinking the second weekend because that will be after the initial run on halloweekends the weekend before.

The four of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves that weekend and can’t wait to do it again so keep the second weekend in october 2010 open and plan for a trip to one of the best amusement parks in the country
