Palm Springs, CA – March 13, 2010Dinner dates with eight of Palm Springs’ hunkiest men will go on the auction block on Saturday, April 3 from 8-11 pm at the Desert’s first annual Stud Auction. The event is presented by Chris Bates, Mr. Tool Shed Leather 2010, and will be held at the Tool Shed, located at 600 East Sunny Dunes Road in Palm Springs.
This year’s auction will benefit Desert AIDS Project’s new Dental Clinic, which provides free and low cost dental care to low income people living with HIV and AIDS. Past PSLOD President Ken Blochowski will emcee, while local personality Steven Michael will serve as auctioneer.
“I’m really proud of the fantastic group of handsome men who have donated their time and agreed to serve as dinner hosts,” said Bates. “I promise that this will be a hot, sexy and fun event!”
Serving as this year’s studs are Mark Becker, Scott Cullens, Lee Erwin, Jared Mabie, J.R. Roberts, Brad Tilford, Cham Wike and Joe Woods.
Winning bidders will be accompanied by their favorite stud for a great dinner at one of Palm Spring’s finest restaurants. Each winner will also receive bonus prize package that includes items like luxury goods, travel getaways, and fun gifts for their own personal use. Cash, checks, and credit cards will be accepted for payment.
More about the event, including photos and information about the studs, is available on the event’s web site: http://www.studauction.org. As a special benefit for those not able to attend the event in person, online bids will be accepted starting March 24.
This year’s Stud Auction is sponsored by the Tool Shed, Pulp and The BottomLine Magazines, and the BigMuscle family of web sites: BigMuscle.com, BigMuscleLeather.com and BigMuscleBears.com. Additional sponsorships remain available.
About Desert AIDS Project’s Dental Clinic:
Desert AIDS Project is the organization in our community where people living with HIV and AIDS can receive comprehensive support, including medical care, case management, and social services. D.A.P. also offers free and confidential HIV testing at a number of locations throughout the Desert.
D.A.P.’s Dental Clinic is the only not-for-profit dental care facility in the Greater Palm Springs Area, where most of the county’s people living with HIV/AIDS reside. It provides diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive care for low-income clients who would otherwise not receive any dental services. Because the mouth is a primary gateway for co-opportunistic infections, its services are essential in protecting the health and extending the lives its patients. Since opening in October, 2008 demand for its services has more than quadrupled.
