Recently, we caught up with Chris Roma of Pantheon Bear
So you guys have been busy – new lube, new titles, what’s going on?
The big news with Pantheon is we just signed on with a new distributor. Pulse Distribution. We’re really excited about working with them. They are a bigger company with broader distribution channels than the one we were with before.
Hopefully they’ll be getting our new Bear Slick silicone lube out into the stores soon.
As far as titles, we just finished shooting a movie at the Lone Star. It’s so hot doing scenes in a great bar like that. It’s a sexy place to shoot.
Can you name names?
We worked with Clint Taylor, Scott Cardinal, Paxton Hall, and Mark Bishop. It was great working with Clint Taylor again. It’s been two or three years since we’ve done a scene with him. Such a sexy and sweet man.
When you work with someone early on and then they move onto other studios – is that like aww they’ve left the nest or it like I remember him when?
I love to see guys that have started with us work with other studios. A guy named Bronson Gates was in our last bear movie, and I just found out he’s working for Colt now. I was pretty jazzed.
It feels like a privilege “discovering” someone… lol.
Seems like when someone hits they cash in on their 15 minutes of fame and work everywhere
Yup. That’s certainly true. These days it seems like most companies aren’t producing as much stuff, so it’s nice seeing guys getting some good gigs.
If someone wants to get discovered are you the casting couch? – how does someone approach a studio like Pantheon?
We’ve got a model application on our site. We typically get 2 or 3 aps a day. Most of the guys we work with come through there. Occasionally we’ll see someone working for another company and get in touch, but 9 times out of 10 they come to us.
What advice do you have for someone trying to break in to the biz?
Well, it’s not the greatest time to break in. A lot of porn companies are struggling right now because there’s just not as much demand out there. But I would say, contact porn stars that they like and ask who they like working with. Each company is different to work with, so it’s nice knowing a bit about who’s going to be behind the camera before you make the leap.
Do you have any souvenirs from your shoots – you know like Zak Spears’ jockstrap from Unsuitable 
I don’t have a Zak jockstrap, but Zak did wear one of my husband’s shirts for one of the scenes and got it all sweaty. It’s nice thinking about that each time I see my hubby in it. I have Tim Kelly’s underwear from Brief Encounters
Have you ever starred in a movie?
No, I think I’m a bit too shy to be on the other side of the camera. I just don’t think I could perform. I marvel at guys who are natural exhibitionists.
I’ve thought about it before, but I know what goes into it, and I just don’t think I could pull it off.
Where can we find Pantheon at this summer’s events?
